Chromebook Camera/Microphone Access

Chromebook Camera/Microphone Access

If you’re having trouble getting the microphone or camera to work on your Chromebook, try these ideas:

Reset Permissions

  • Click the pad lock icon next to the website address
  • Select Site Settings
  • Usage>Clear Data
  • Permission>Reset permissions
  • Launch site again and ensure that Allow is selected to use Camera/Microphone when prompted

Adjusting Microphone Volume (Chrome OS 86)

  • Sign into the Chromebook
  • At the bottom right, select the time
  • Click the arrow next to the volume slider
  • Adjust the microphone volume accordingly

Problems within Schoology

If an application that uses the camera (i.e. Flipgrid) is not working when in Schoology, navigate to the application’s website by selecting the box with an arrow in the upper right hand corner

If you are still experiencing issues after trying the steps above, try resetting your chromebook.
